We got the most amazing photo of a great white shark with mouth wide open and then swimming away at the last minute. Guadalupe, Baja, October 2011.

Honestly every dive got better and better throughout the entire trip. Just when you think it can’t get any better, you jump back in to the crystal blue and a new show begins. Always better than the last! From big to bigger great white sharks, calm and graceful to skittish and a tad unhinged!! These beautiful creatures gave it all and then some! I was lucky enough to see over a dozen different huge Great whites. Also a Whitey stalking a massive turtle and vice versa! My last dive to say good bye I am blessed with a Cali Sea lion playing tag with three massive sharks!! The complete package! This whole trip was awesome. Thank you to the fantastic crew.
I will be back.

Each day brought new experiences and adventures. Juan, Belinda and all of the Dive Masters ensured a fantastic experience during each trip down. The last day brought non-stop action by at least four sharks that kept circling the cages and getting within a couple of feet sometimes closer! The crew was always there to help you put on your dive gear and help you whenever necessary. When you came up you could always count on Carmen and Adolfo to be there with hot refreshments and something to eat. The meals were fantastic throughout the trip. Chef Lupe did a fantastic job keeping each meal different than the day before. It truly was a once in a lifetime experience that I would recommend to anyone who has an interest in White Sharks. My friends and I are certainly going to try to go on more with the Nautilus Explorer team.

We are making our way home after a very eventful trip on the nautilus explorer. We HAVE really enjoyed our time on the boat, all the crew and dive masters have been excellent, pre-empting every need and looking after us very well. Day one began with the first submersible cage dive in the 4 man, the sea was flat and the vis was amazing, we had at least 3 big beautiful female sharks circling us for much of the dive. Throughout the day the dives just got better. On the second day our first dive was very quiet with not a shark in sight, we climbed out feeling a little disappointed but grateful for the previous day. Little did we know that the action was about to hot up, along with the wind and the surge, with plenty of close encounters. Whilst watching from the 15 foot cage I saw a young feisty male glide down on the 4Man submersible, he skilfully dodged the shark using the cage to defend himself, what a rush. The first dive of the last day was very eventful, we were in the 2-man cage and a young female tried to get to our dive master Belinda, she was brilliant. We got the most amazing photo of the sharks open mouth. Too soon the last dive of the last day of the trip came around, we ended as we began in the 4 man. This time we were joined by a Californian Sea Lion who ducked in and around 4 great whites, teasing them with every move going in close then swimming away at the last moment. AMAZING. This trip has definitely been everything we hoped for and more, fantastic shark sightings, along with meeting lovely people in the other guests and a professional and friendly crew and staff. There are no words so why don’t you come and see for yourself, you wont regret it ;o)
