Today was dolphin day!!!  Up until I had some to be apart of the crew on the Nautilus Explorer, I had never seen a dolphin on SCUBA.  Yes I have seen them spinning in a wake or playing under the bow of a boat, but not underwater.  On this contract we have had many occasions to see these wonderful creatures.  They spin and play. and we have even seen them mating.  I notice they love to hangout with whales, and to sing sing sing!!  As I mentioned, today was dolphin day!  I observed dolphins displaying their shenanigans in unusual ways.  First, it was a solo dolphin when I was on a solo mission to set the grapple at Cabo Pearce.  From the surface we knew that he was there, and he joined me straight from descent to the bottom.  We played for just a moment as I had work to do, as did he.  As I sent up my safety sausage, the dolphin turned around and started to make those dolphin cackling noises.  as if to call all his friends to see the strange human with bubbles.  As I waited for Hernan to send me the anchor and line, I had a whole pod come  over to play.  Amazing!    Next this afternoon, I got to share my dolphin adventure with my divers. However, this time it was in a cave/arch of Roc O Neal.  We had just descended into the cave and I was showing my divers all the whitetips that like to hide there when all of a sudden we saw a jack fish zooming in.  Following it very closely behind was a dolphin. They were spinning and playing together- we could see and feel the fun they were having.  It was our turn to join in!  The guest too started in the play, and there we were 11 divers, a jack fish and a dolphin having the time of their lives!!!!
